If you enjoy the excitement of a roller coaster
ride, you will love skydiving! The quiet solitude of a canopy ride, may
just be the ticket for you. At SKYDIVE ERIE we offer 2 ways to enjoy
this rapidly growing sport at a price that will pleasantly surprise you.
Listed below are the different methods we offer. Your choice – after all –
it’s your time, thrill and money – it should be your choice! After your
first jump you will receive a frame-ready first jump certificate, and a
skydiving logbook to record jumps. Caution: Parachuting/Skydiving is not
to be confused with an amusement park ride. There’s training and
performance skills needed to participate.
Classes are held Saturdays and Sundays regardless of weather conditions.
Weather permitting after completed class; you will make your first jump.
Rain date coupons are given in case you do not make your jump that same
day. Classes are by appointment only. A $50.00 deposit is required for
classroom space. We recommend a two-week notice to reserve classroom space
by emailing or mailing the completed
registration form.
1. Go Tandem
Try skydiving for the first time and experience the art of freefall for
yourself. Hooked to the instructor, this option gives you the feeling of
security while getting the rush at the same time. After about a 45 second
freefall, glide gently to the ground under a parachute built for two.
Tandem Jump Course on a parachute built for two is one of the
easiest ways to experience skydiving. The rider and an experienced
licensed tandem master wearing a specially designed harness that holds two
people safely together will exit the airplane at 9,500 feet, both
freefalling 35 seconds through space until the parachute opens at 4,500
feet. The rider experiences a gentle descent while the tandem master and
rider will bring the parachute to a precise landing. The pre-jump
instruction takes only about 45 minutes for the experience of a lifetime.
($190.00)
Offered Saturday or Sundays by appointment.
2. Static Line
This option is for the serious adrenaline junkies. In a 4-5 hour class you
will learn all the essentials to make your first skydive SOLO!! After
exiting the aircraft, you will be guided to the ground by radio
instruction . This method allows you the opportunity to continue learning
the sport of skydiving by building on your initial training with each
jump.
Traditional
Static Line (S/L) Jump Course starting at 9:30 a.m. begins by
introducing you to the sport. We teach you parachute safety, and how the
equipment works. The classes continue by learning how to get in and out of
the airplane, controlling the parachute and how to land safely. After
about 4 –5 hours, equipment will be provided for your first jump (weather
permitting). An experienced jumpmaster will bring you up to 3,500’ and
help you exit the airplane. The parachute will open automatically in 2 to
3 seconds by the use of a static line. Once open, a ground controller will
be in constant contact by radio with you throughout your jump until you
are safely on the ground. ($160.00). Offered Saturday or Sunday mornings.
